French leader in the manufacture of seats for tertiary spaces, offices and communities, Sokoa, exhibited 6 of its top collections in the Parisian showroom of Danish fabric supplier Gabriel, from March 14 to 29. This operation is first of all an opportunity to take stock of the history and values of this company, created in 1971 in the Basque Country, which is today the parent company of an expert group in the development solutions for tertiary and collective spaces.
With its other brands Eurosit, Genexco, Sorec Solutions and Sellex, positioned in particular in the head office, acoustic solutions and space layout, the group now achieves more than 100 million euros in turnover. Sokoa is also a business project based on values: the company was born out of a job creation project in the Basque Country, based on local popular savings, and is developed by focusing on manufacturing in France, and the desire to give meaning to its activity, by constantly improving the quality of products, and respecting the environment.
Design-based Manufacturing
As the collections exhibited at Gabriel show, Sokoa is just as much about creation, through collaborations with the industrial design studio Iratzoki and Lizaso, to whom we owe the Alaia office chairs, meeting very demanding specifications for be able to satisfy the greatest number, by offering a wide choice of ergonomic configurations, and Eden 02, a model that stands out for its strong personality.
The designer duo also signs the line of Klik chairs, stools and fireside chairs, which is distinguished by a semi-rigid backrest that combines flexibility and back support, and the Mendi modular seating system, an architectural concept that meets the expectations of newcomers. shared workplaces. Another designer partner of the brand, Bruno Houssin imagined Kulbu, both a nomadic object and an offbeat seat that provides the tonic support expected during brainstorming sessions, made with an innovative and ecological material, oyster powder, which gives it a mineral effect inspired by the pebble. The sixth creation on display is the Kanopé coat rack for Genexco (designed by Bruno Houssin), whose metallic structure and beech endings evoke plant growth to bring serenity to workspaces.
